Late in the evening of 2/19/2010, a driver attempting to turn right from Memorial Drive onto Main St and the Longfellow Bridge instead crashed through the steel fence separating the roadway from the MBTA Red Line rails, ending up on the southbound tracks after knocking the third rail from its insulators and clipping the northbound train.
