The 20x24 Polaroid camera used to take the Gaga portrait and leather chair (formerly owned by Edwin Land, Polaroid co-founder) in which Gaga -- apparently wearing next to nothing between her and the seat -- during the portrait session, which took a little over an hour and produced 22 poster-size Polaroid prints that each cost some $200 in raw materials to make. The portraits were done by 20x24 Studio, the only remaining manufacturer of the reagent chemistry needed to produce the prints, and took a team of five people working continuously (peeling the film, loading the film, operating the lens, operating the focus, and operating the lights) at full tilt throughout the session to make. Lady Gaga came to MIT to have her portrait taken with an extremely rare Polaroid 20x24 camera on 6/30/10. The resulting portrait was donated to the MIT Museum and shown to the press at a press conference led by Polaroid executives and MIT Museum curator Deborah Douglas.
